Welcome, my name is Parag Ray. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 18 years of experience in Adverse Childhood Experience (ACEs), mental health, and trauma-based profession working with children, youth, adults, elderly, families, and groups. My professional work addresses the individual needs of those experiencing symptoms related to trauma, grief/loss, anxiety/panic, stress diagnosis.
The experience of trauma can be overwhelming, isolating, and confusing. I work diligently to meet the specific and unique needs of each of my clients in an environment which provides for trust, compassion, and validation. My goal is to ensure that clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. I approach my clients from a holistic systems-based perspective. My ongoing training and professional development in the areas of grief, mindfulness, and trauma work helps me to ensure that strategies and interventions I use, are client driven and strength based.
Who do you work with?
Long term experience within mental health related settings have allowed me to gain a greater understanding of many layers of such experience and the ability to recognize that the feeling of such conditions is not something that always ends but, instead, is part of a transformative journey. Other areas of professional experience and interest include relationship issues, substance abuse and addictions, parenting worries, emotional dysregulation, low self-esteem, social pressures, anger management, life transitions, impact of immigration, family dynamics, cultural expectations, and infertility dynamics.

- I possess significant experience working with individuals, couples, families, and those impacted by various forms of mental health, trauma, and immigration issues.
- I custom tailor my approach for each of my clients by integrating a variety of therapeutic modalities including Emotionally Focused (EFT), Family Systems (FST), Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour (DBT) and Trauma Focused.
I offer therapy in English, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu and Punjabi to best support diversity and immigration needs.
Mental health philosophy?
I utilize a collaborative and real-life approach to develop goals and intervention strategies that can best meet the needs of the individual. My approach focuses heavily on gaining a greater understanding of the unique needs of individuals and couples and hence, the recognition and celebration of resiliency in each client that I work with.

Outside the office:
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, practicing music as my hobby, reading on spirituality, volunteering for non-profit organizations, mindfulness-based practices, and finding the secret to the purpose of this life journey.
