I am looking to improve the day-to-day experience in the lives of those I work with or interact with in life. I am a compassionate, understanding, and non-judgemental person, who loves connecting and talking with people in a deeper manner. I have an approachable energy and have been told that I make people feel comfortable sharing more intimate details of their lives.
I have experience working with clients suffering from stress, anxiety, depressed mood, irritability, insecurity, guilt, and hopelessness. I have also worked with cliental experiencing relationship difficulties, flashbacks of traumatic events, thoughts of suicide, nightmares, and difficulties sleeping. In therapy together, we will take moments to reflect on your thoughts, feelings, and physical reactions. We will work to create a trusting relationship, where I listen to you with compassion.
I aim to develop a kind space where we can approach your unique experience with genuine curiosity. I like to explore and reflect your experience in your subjective perspective, and work on understanding you before rushing into solutions.
Drawing from client-centred, ACT, and CBT, my focus is cultivating your self-acceptance and self-compassion to help you develop a better relationship with your “negative” thoughts and feelings. From mindfulness and breathing activities in-session, to techniques and coping strategies to use at home, we will work to make you become more aligned with your values and ideal self.
I have a Master’s of Education in Counselling Psychology and I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario.
Outside of the office, I love spending time socializing with my friends and family. I have always been extremely extroverted, but I also love the outdoors, and being adventurous. So naturally, my favourite activities include socializing during activities such as hiking, camping, skiing, skating, volleyball, dancing, and spending time on the beach. I love learning new recipes and having board game nights. My favourite game is euchre, and I could play this every day of the week, if it were possible.
